Shooter loses thumb in freak accident at range

As per National Rifle Association of India officials, the incident transpired on Saturday evening as Pushpender Kumar, serving in the Indian Air Force as a corporal, was engaged in practice at a private range in Faridabad alongside his coach. Fortunately, his shooting arm remains unharmed. The mishap occurred when Kumar inadvertently overfilled the pistol cylinder with compressed air, leading to the subsequent explosion. Hailing from UP, Kumar was preparing for the National Championships currently underway in Bhopal.
